A Recollection of Local Taiwanese Stories
The Crossover between Percussion Music and Clay Art

Embracing Eternity in the Changing and the Unchanging

The experienced production team of Mulan, including artistic director Ju, Tzong-Ching, director Lee, Hsiao-Ping and composer Hung, Chien-Hui, brings Ju Percussion Group’s final show in 2019. In this new percussion theatre, local Taiwanese culture and sentiments are presented through a variety of performances.
It all started with a dialogue between percussion and pottery. Common people’s deep love for the land is the core of the performance, while contemporary art is the form. Screenwriter Hsing, Pen-Ning first produced a script of “Legend of Luzhunan” taking place under a longan tree, and director Lee, Hsiao-Ping, composer Hung, Chien-Hui and the Ju Percussion Group worked out the artistic movements together, combining the sound of percussion and the land. With the addition of digital art and other theater elements, the audience is guaranteed to have a whole new musical experience.

Dedicated with Love
on the 35th Anniversary of the Ju Percussion Group

With the attitude of pursuing “better and better”, and after the difficult process of “breaking down and starting over”, the Percussion Theatre – A Tale of Clay has received numerous accolades and is widely popular among the audience. Rooted on this piece of land and built upon the memories of “home”, A Tale of Clay tells of the original intention with rustic emotions and innovative approach to create moving and inspiring chapters.
“What’s encouraged by the society would appear.” In January 2021, the Ju Percussion Group has chosen A Tale of Clay as the show to represent its 35th anniversary. This performance resonates with the JPG’s unchanging belief and constant struggles. The JPG invites the audience to enter the theater and bring warmth and hope to our homes.
